The Pittsburgh Steelers are flying under the radar and maybe that’s how they like it.

They have built a solid defensive unit led by reigning Defensive Player of the Year T.J. Watt and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Pittsburgh also brought in Larry Ogunjobi on a one-year contract to beef up their defensive line.

There are also a number of talented athletes on their offense, namely Najee Harris, Chase Claypool, and Pat Freiermuth.

Another player who is making waves for the Steelers is wide receiver Diontae Johnson.

Stop sleeping on Diontae Johnson. 🗣️

He is celebrating his 26th birthday today and the NFL’s official Twitter account reminded football fans to not sleep on his talent.

The former Toledo standout is trending up based on his first three seasons in the league.

From 680 yards in his rookie year, he had 923 in his second year and 1,161 last season.

Johnson has also averaged 10.9 yards per catch and has 20 touchdowns.

He will continue to be a bright spot in the Steelers’ offense even after Ben Roethlisberger‘s retirement.

Therefore, it will be a positive challenge for either Mitchell Trubisky or Kenny Pickett to deliver the ball to this speedster downfield.

Johnson is starting to realize his potential and that’s a scary thought for the rest of the league.

Steelers Need Consistent Production From Johnson

He will play a key role in maintaining head coach Mike Tomlin’s streak of not having a losing season.

For that to happen, Johnson and the Steelers must survive their tough division.

Their battles with the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, and Baltimore Ravens will be hotly-contested.

Therefore, huge games from Johnson against their division rivals will help them clinch another winning season.

This time around, they would like to enter the postseason and win a game.

When that happens, Johnson’s number will be dialed even more.
