3 NFL QBs Still Wanting A Change Of Scenery This Summer

August is almost here, which means the NFL preseason is right around the corner.

With the preseason quickly approaching, teams want to get their quarterbacks ready for game day.

However, there’s three NFL quarterbacks who want a new team this year.

While some are by choice, others could come from a decision to have another quarterback starting over them.

So who are these three quarterbacks looking for a new NFL team in 2022?

3. Kyler Murray

This pick is on the Arizona Cardinals, and if they can get their starting quarterback a new contract.

Kyler Murray has done things this offseason to signal he could want a trade if he doesn’t get a new deal.

If I'm Matt Rhule, and I read/hear that Kyler Murray is threatening making a trade demand if he's not extended by the Cardinals soon…I'm calling Steve Keim this morning.

I'm also seriously considering Malik Willis at No. 6 overall, but I'm at least calling the Cards on Kyler.

However, the team got Murray’s former teammate, Hollywood Brown, to keep him in Arizona.

But even with that move, the team still needs to sign him to a long-term deal if they don’t want him to demand a trade.

So it comes down to IF he gets that new contract or not.

Getting a new deal clearly takes him off the list.

However, if the Cardinals cannot sign him to a contract he likes, we could see him on the trading block.

2. Jimmy Garoppolo

Jimmy Garoppolo is the talk of trade rumors ever since the team got Trey Lance.

People see the San Francisco 49ers pushing him out of the starting quarterback role ever since Lance came aboard.

However, he could also want out of San Francisco if the team ditches him for their younger quarterback.

There are already talks of him going out to Cleveland to fill in for Deshaun Watson, pending his suspension.

A move to Cleveland might not be perfect, but it could at least show other NFL teams if he’s worth having in 2023.

The trade would work out best for the Browns, who are looking to stay in contention in the AFC North.

However, Jimmy G has the final say in where he wants to go in 2022.

1. Baker Mayfield

The one quarterback who’s told the world he wants a trade is Baker Mayfield.

His desire to leave Cleveland all started when his team went after Watson.

Since that moment, he let fans know on Twitter how he felt about the move by Cleveland.

With him wanting out of Cleveland, and the Panthers and Seahawks showing interest in him, it’s a matter of time before he’s with another team.

However, the issue that’s holding back teams from committing to him is his contract.

With a contract of over $18 million, it’s a huge contract for someone that might only be a holdover quarterback for teams.

But if he performs well in 2022, it could help him show he’s worth another contract like that in 2023.

While he’s still in Cleveland, the team has shown a desire to take a hit on his contract.

This would mean they would eat some of that $18 million salary he’s expected to get this season.

The faster they work out a deal on how much they will pay of his 2022 contract, the faster they can move him to his new team.
