Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder is not exactly a beloved NFL leader.
Not only has his team struggled with him at the helm, but some serious allegations have come his way as well.
The latest have to do with a former team employee claiming Snyder sexually harassed her, which he denies.
The NFL conducted its own investigation, but can’t release the findings without Snyder’s permission.
This matter was presented before Congress and the whole thing paints the owner in a bad light.
A new twist was added Wednesday as it was reported Snyder is going to open an independent investigation into the claims against him.
Commanders owner Dan Snyder is hiring an independent investigative team, led by former Asst. U.S. Attorneys Bonnie Jonas and Tiffany Moller of Pallas Global Group LLC, to look into allegations made last week by Tiffani Johnston during her time with the team, per a team official.

To be clear, he is hiring his own investigative team to look into allegations against himself.
This reeks of not being independent from the start.
One Simple Solution
The easiest thing to do would be Snyder allowing the NFL to release its own findings.
Him denying that seems to indicate there is something in there he doesn’t want everyone to know.
Thus, he is hiring his own investigative team for a claim against himself.
For context, Johnston told Congress Snyder sexually harassed & touched her w/out consent, & she hadn’t come forward before for fear of retaliation. Congress then released a doc showing NFL may need Snyder’s consent to release findings of its investigation: https://t.co/poqxzjnjJw https://t.co/yGfczD5I3T

This once again shows the power held by NFL owners.
If this were a player, swift action would likely be taken given the claims and how high up this process has gone.
But an owner can bury information and even hire their own investigators to give them favorable findings.
Or even if the findings are damning, they can simply stay buried and never be released.
Snyder already had a dismal reputation and it somehow is getting worse.
Him not releasing any findings, or not letting any to be released by the NFL, may tell fans everything they need to know.
