Everybody had been anxiously awaiting an update on Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin.
On Friday morning, it was reported that Hamlin was breathing on his own and even FaceTimed the Bills in a massive positive update after a terrifying situation.
The Bills are preparing for their Week 18 contest against the New England Patriots, and the news regarding Hamlin can ease their minds a little bit after a rough week.
NFL legend and former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald touched on the Hamlin situation on Friday:
Unbelievable strength from this man. Once again the Bills + Bengals medical staffs, and everyone in that ICU, are heroes.
This warmed my heart this morning. https://t.co/p4s7HBixpZ

“Unbelievable strength from this man. Once again the Bills + Bengals medical staffs, and everyone in that ICU, are heroes. This warmed my heart this morning.”
There are a ton of reasons to be thankful for the way this situation has played out so far, and the medical staff at the hospital, as well as the first responders and trainers on the field, deserve appreciation for their efforts and life-saving tactics.
Hamlin was also named the Week 18 Community MVP by the NFLPA in a well-deserved honor, and his Chasing M’s Foundation has received millions of dollars in donations from people across the country.
Fitzgerald is right — unbelievable strength from Hamlin amid a difficult situation.
When he woke up, one of the first things he asked was about the outcome of the game, and speaking with his team must have been a wonderful moment for him and the Bills as a whole.
The Damar Hamlin situation continues to improve by the day, and this is good news for everybody across the country.
