Over the past few days, the plot has started to thicken regarding the immediate future for superstar guard Damian Lillard, with reports surfacing that the Portland Trail Blazers are starting to engage teams in trade talks once again.
After Lillard made his trade demand a few months ago, all signs pointed to the Blazers and Miami Heat coming to terms on a deal to send one of the league’s best scorers to South Beach.
Lillard has made it abundantly clear that he wants to be traded to the Heat and won’t be happy if he’s sent elsewhere, especially after being loyal to the Blazers for over a decade.
On Friday, a report surfaced that the Blazers were not talking to the Heat about a Lillard trade, as the team had engaged with other teams that hadn’t been disclosed.
However, former NFL star Chad Johnson let it slip, whether jokingly or not, that Lillard will end up with the Heat, via “Club Shay Shay” with Shannon Sharpe.

It’s unclear if he has inside knowledge of Lillard’s immediate future or if he’s just a fan hoping that the Blazers superstar ends up in Miami.
With preseason set to get underway in a couple of weeks, the clock is ticking for the Blazers brass to get a deal done, meaning a trade could come to fruition sooner rather than later, as Portland will not want to deal with the awkwardness of training camp if they haven’t sent Lillard packing.
Only time will tell where Lillard lands and if it is indeed with the Heat.NEXT: Insider Gives Troubling Update On Heat's Pursuit Of Damian Lillard
