That Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is still playing at 45 years old is already mind-boggling.
It’s rare to hear a football player still active at that age unless they are a placekicker or a punter.
The game’s violent nature makes it difficult for players to compete beyond 40 years old.
Aside from the brutal hits, older players tend to be replaced by younger ones.
Therefore, the long careers they aspired for can end in an instant.
Indeed, Brady continues to blaze new trails as he continues his career that spans over two decades.
However, here are more mind-boggling facts regarding the seven-time Super Bowls winner, as shared by ESPN’s Field Yates.
Tom Brady turns 45 years old today.
Brady will become the first QB to ever start an NFL game after turning 45.
Also, there are over 100 players on an NFL roster right now that were born after Brady was drafted by the Patriots in 2000, per @billsperos.

Yates tweeted, “Tom Brady turns 45 years old today. Brady will become the first QB to ever start an NFL game after turning 45. Also, there are over 100 players on an NFL roster right now that were born after Brady was drafted by the Patriots in 2000, per @billsperos”
Likewise, Brady fulfilled his goal of playing football until he turns 45 years old.
But he has been playing for so long that some players were not even alive when he was playing collegiate football at Michigan.
Despite his advanced age, he seems to be playing better as years go by.
Last season, Brady had 5,316 yards and 43 touchdown passes.
Those numbers do not indicate a player that is slowing down due to his advanced years.
Chasing Blanda
It is still uncertain if Brady will suit up beyond the 2022 season.
His contract with the Buccaneers is up after the season and teams can acquire him through free agency.
But given his competitive drive, he might push for reaching or surpassing George Blanda‘s playing age of 48.
That is just three years away and Brady can reach that goal because he is still at the top of his game.
