Schefter tweeted, “Veteran WR DeSean Jackson officially passed his physical with the Ravens and was signed to their practice squad with the expectation to soon be added to their 53-man roster.”
The 35-year-old wideout is expected to bolster Baltimore’s receiving corps, which only has five active players on its depth chart.
Bateman is also listed as questionable, making Jackson a necessary addition.
Jackson, a former California standout, was a part of the 2009 Second-Team All-Pro.
He had 1,156 yards and nine touchdowns that season.
He also had 1,000-yard seasons in 2010, 2013, 2014, and 2016.
Jackson completed his best year as a pro with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013, finishing with career-highs of 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns.
A Glimpse Of Jackson’s NFL Career
The Philadelphia Eagles selected him in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft, and he stayed there for six seasons.
He signed a three-year deal to join the Washington Redskins after his stint in Philadelphia.
Jackson joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2017 and lasted there for two seasons.
He went back to the Eagles in 2019 and stayed for two years.
The California native briefly played for the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 and received a 75-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford in Week 3.
However, he was released upon request and signed with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Jackson has 632 receptions for 11,110 yards and 58 receiving touchdowns.
He also has four return touchdowns out of 1,352 return yards.
He holds the NFL record for touchdowns of at least 60 yards with 26 and touchdowns of at least 80 yards with five.
