New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is bothered by his team’s three-year playoff drought.
Unfortunately, the first year of their slump coincided with Tom Brady‘s final year with the franchise.
The Patriots won six Super Bowls in two decades with him at the helm.
But even with that level of success, Brady decided to leave for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before the 2020 season.
Football experts had their interpretations regarding the falling out.
Some say that Brady couldn’t stand Bill Belichick’s controlling ways even if he was already a veteran.
Yet NFL report Dov Kleiman shared an interesting scenario that could have kept Brady in New England.
If the #Patriots picked DK Metcalf, AJ Brown, Terry McLaurin, Deebo Samuel, and such over N'Keal Harry when they were still on the board, it's very possible the best QB in history never chooses to leave their team.
In 2019, the Pats ranked 32nd in separation and 2nd most drops. https://t.co/Tnu6Qzrfth

NBC Sports’ Warren Sharp pointed out the Patriots’ troubling history in drafting wide receivers.
From that perspective, Kleiman argued that drafting a better receiver than N’Keal Harry could have led Brady to sign an extension with New England.
They could have had anyone from Deebo Samuel, A.J. Brown, Terry McLaurin, and D.K. Metcalf instead of Harry.
All of those wide receivers have become huge contributors to their respective teams.
Meanwhile, Harry’s best year was in 2020, when he had 309 yards and two touchdowns.
Out of several chances to draft the right person, they selected the wrong one.
The Patriots Cannot Groom Wide Receivers
New England had success when they brought in wideouts like Randy Moss and Julian Edelman.
However, they haven’t had a drafted wide receiver who became a Pro Bowler or an All-Pro.
The Patriots acquired DeVante Parker from the Miami Dolphins this offseason to line up with Nelson Agholor, Jakobi Meyers, and Kendrick Bourne.
That’s a receiving corps that doesn’t strike much fear upon opposing defenses.
Sadly, the Patriots are making the same mistakes, robbing quarterback Mac Jones of a better opportunity to compete.
