The New York Jets have a big hole at the starting quarterback position, as second-year man Zach Wilson didn’t quite measure up this season.
They tried four different starters at that spot this season, and they have been rumored to be in the market for a big upgrade at that position.
Insider Ari Meirov feels that New York should bring in Aaron Rodgers and have him serve as a sort of mentor to Wilson.
If the #Jets truly still believe in Zach Wilson, it’s not crazy to think the best thing for him would be to bring Aaron Rodgers in and let Zach sit behind him. Wilson grew up admiring Rodgers and Rodgers has spoken highly about Wilson.

Wilson was the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and he was a standout at Bringham Young University, as he put up 33 passing touchdowns and 10 rushing touchdowns in 2020, his junior season there.
But in two pro seasons, he has struggled mightily, as he has thrown more interceptions (18) than touchdown passes (15) while completing only 55.2 percent of his pass attempts.
After starting 6-3, the Jets lost six in a row to end the season with a 7-10 record, and they haven’t made the playoffs since the 2010 season.
While they have a couple of standout pieces, such as Pro Bowl rookie cornerback Sauce Gardner and wide receiver Garrett Wilson, they need a lot more help in order to become a consistently competitive team again.
While Rodgers had a rough season with the Green Bay Packers this year, he is still clearly a very capable quarterback, as he registered 26 passing touchdowns and a passer rating of 91.1.
There have been rumors that he is ready to move on from the only team he has ever played for, and perhaps he would be a nice rental for a Jets team that is looking to build something for the next several years.
