It’s been three months since the 2022 NFL Draft ended and the rookies have attended voluntary OTAs and training camps.
They will continue to learn their craft in hopes of earning a place on their team’s final roster.
Aside from competing for their spot, they have also signed their respective rookie contracts.
First-round draft picks receive a four-year, fully guaranteed contract with the value depending on their draft position.
Travon Walker, the number one overall selection, received a four-year, $37.3 million deal.
Aidan Hutchinson was drafted one spot after him and earned a four-year, $35.7 million contract.
Meanwhile, Lewis Cine was the last pick in round one and got $11.4 million.
Kenny Pickett of the Pittsburgh Steelers was the last first-rounder to sign.
Aside from the early selections, teams must also negotiate with their other picks.
That said, ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared an important update.
The last of the unsigned rookie draft picks, Ravens’ second-round pick David Ojabo, signed his deal. The 2022 draft class is now fully under contract.

Schefter tweeted, “The last of the unsigned rookie draft picks, Ravens’ second-round pick David Ojabo, signed his deal. The 2022 draft class is now fully under contract.”
Terms of Ojabo’s deal have not been disclosed but it’s important to note that this season’s rookie class is devoid of contract drama.
Therefore, they can concentrate on working on their game and get more playing time.
The NFL Season Is Just Around The Corner
With training camp underway, it won’t be long before preseason games start.
By that time, football fans cannot deny that their favorite sport is back.
From there, the season will open on September 8 when the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams face a perennial playoff contender in the Buffalo Bills.
Three days later, the season will be in full swing with the rest of Week 1 games.
When that happens, it will be interesting to see the rookies that will excel in their debut.
