Well, it seems like the Derek Carr era with the Las Vegas Raiders has officially come to an end.
The Fresno State product was benched for the final two games of the season in favor of Jarrett Stidham, and the franchise will now explore the trade market for his services.
Carr — who has a no-trade clause on his deal — has already shared a statement bidding Raider Nation farewell, so it’s evident that he intends to collaborate with the franchise in this process.

Despite his ups and downs, Carr’s career has been mostly solid, so there should be no shortage of teams interested in acquiring his services.
However, he won’t come in cheap, as NFL insider Field Yates recently reported:
“If a team were to trade for Derek Carr, here is what it would owe him on his current deal:
2023: $32.9M base salary + $100K workout bonus = $33M cap hit
2024: $41.9M base salary + $100K workout bonus = $42M cap hit
2025: $41.2M base salary + $100K workout bonus = $41.3M cap hit,” tweeted Yates.

Teams like the Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, and Washington Commanders sure make sense for Carr.
The Raiders, on the other hand, will also have to find a new QB, as Stidham is far behind in his development and may not be a starting-caliber option at this point in his career.
That might not sit well with star wideout Davante Adams, who forced his way out of Green Bay to reunite with his college QB and best friend, so that’ll be another story to keep an eye on throughout the offseason.
