Yesterday was the first anniversary of Chase Young‘s injury.
The Washington Commanders did not activate him for the Monday Nnght game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but today, we are cautiously optimistic.
Sources: Chase Young — the former No. 2 pick in the 2020 draft who was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year — is expected to be activated this week to play Sunday in his first game since tearing his ACL and MCL in a game against the Buccaneers last November. A boost for Wash D.

As per this report, Young will likely be playing in the Commanders game on this coming Sunday against the Houston Texans.
This will give the Commanders an even larger boost to their defense, which is only surrendering 21.3 points per game to their opponents.
Young Is One Of The NFL’s Best
When he is on the field, Young is simply a force to be reckoned with.
In college, Young was the Big Ten Male Athlete of the Year, the Nagurski-Woodson Defensive Player of the Year, and the Smith-Brown Defensive Lineman of the Year, among many other accolades.
In his 24 career NFL games, Young has totaled an incredible 9 sacks, 6 forced fumbles, 1 touchdown, and 63 total tackles.
The Commanders are eager to get this former Defensive Rookie of the Year back on the field.
After their Monday night victory against the Eagles, the Commanders are touting a 5-5 record.
However, with the Texans and the Falcons on the horizon, the Commanders could begin their two-game stint with the Giants sitting at a 7-5 record.
The timing of Young coming back simply cannot be understated, especially in these do-or-die games.
Win the next two, and the Commanders are right back in the hunt for the playoffs.
For the sake of great football, and sheer chaos within the NFC East, fans are certainly pulling for Young and the Commanders.
