Now that the Kansas City Chiefs will try a different approach in their passing game, they cannot afford to lose any of their receivers to injury.
With Tyreek Hill and Byron Pringle gone, Patrick Mahomes must distribute the wealth to keep the ball moving down the field.
That said, it was quite alarming that JuJu Smith-Schuster sat out one of their recent practices due to a sore knee.
Luckily, the injury was nothing serious and he will be able to play in Week 1.
Likewise, fellow wideout Mecole Hardman seems to be doing well, as shared by NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
Great news regarding injured #Chiefs’ WR Mecole Hardman: Source says it’s not serious — he suffered a “groin injury and is doing okay.” Hardman left practice yesterday after landing awkwardly trying to catch a pass.

Schultz tweeted, “Great news regarding injured #Chiefs’ WR Mecole Hardman: Source says it’s not serious — he suffered a ‘groin injury and is doing okay.’ Hardman left practice yesterday after landing awkwardly trying to catch a pass.”
Hardman is the longest-tenured wide receiver on the Chiefs roster and he has been a constant fixture throughout the team’s rise to success.
His numbers may not be as big as those of Hill and Travis Kelce but he has remained consistent over three seasons.
He never had a season below 500 receiving yards and has become a Second-Team All-Pro member as a return specialist.
Given that the injury is minor in nature, he just needs rest before competing in the regular season.
Catching Passes For Mahomes
Aside from Hardman and Smith-Schuster, the Chiefs also brought in Marquez Valdes-Scantling from the Green Bay Packers.
They also selected Skyy Moore in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Josh Gordon is still on their depth chart, but he will have to show more if he wants to crack the rotation.
If all else fails, Kelce will be Mahomes’ primary target.
