Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett might miss their Week 4 game against the Atlanta Falcons after getting involved in a single-car accident.
His potential absence will be a huge blow to the Browns’ defense, especially their pass rush.
Garrett has three sacks in three games, including two during their home opener against the Carolina Panthers.
But while he might not play against Atlanta, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero shared some positive news about the three-time All-Pro.
#Browns star Myles Garrett was discharged from the hospital Monday night, per source.
More tests coming. The good news is Garrett’s injuries aren’t life-threatening. He swerved to avoid an animal on a wet road and overcorrected. Car flipped multiple times. Could’ve been worse.

Pelissero tweeted, “#Browns star Myles Garrett was discharged from the hospital Monday night, per source. More tests coming. The good news is Garrett’s injuries aren’t life-threatening. He swerved to avoid an animal on a wet road and overcorrected. Car flipped multiple times. Could’ve been worse.”
Succeeding tests will reveal the severity of his injuries.
However, he could easily be out against the Falcons because the team will not rush his recovery.
It’s unfortunate that Garrett might be out of action when the Browns are gaining some momentum.
Without him, the Browns might find it difficult to put pressure on the other team’s quarterback.
Heart And Soul Of Cleveland’s Defense
Garrett has been the cornerstone of the Browns’ defense since they took him first overall in 2017.
Since then, he tallied double-digit sacks from 2018 to 2021.
He had his career-high 16 sacks last season, to go with three passes defended and one fumble recovery for a touchdown.
His dominance on the field earned him two First-Team All-Pro nods and one Second-Team All-Pro selection.
The former Texas A&M standout also has three Pro Bowl inclusions.
As of Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season, Garrett has 210 tackles, 61.5 sacks, 12 forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and ten pass deflections.
Isaiah Thomas might start in his absence against the Falcons.
