The Indianapolis Colts have experienced mixed results during the start of the 2022 NFL season.
Aside from their tie with the Houston Texans, they have also won against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Unfortunately, the Colts experienced a shutout loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars and another defeat to the Tennessee Titans.
Working on a short week, the Colts will go on the road to face the Denver Broncos in a Thursday Night Football game.
But given the interval between the two games, the Colts might have several key players unavailable.
#Colts coach Frank Reich tells reporters that LB Shaq Leonard (concussion) is out for Thursday night. Meanwhile, RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) will continue to be monitored. My understanding is scans came back clean. But TBD on availability given the short turnaround.

NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport tweeted, “#Colts coach Frank Reich tells reporters that LB Shaq Leonard (concussion) is out for Thursday night. Meanwhile, RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) will continue to be monitored. My understanding is scans came back clean. But TBD on availability given the short turnaround.”
Taylor has the sixth-most rushing yards through four games with 328.
Therefore, not having him for Week 5 would be a huge blow to Indianapolis’ ground game.
He had full participation during Thursday and Friday’s practices last week despite a toe injury.
Meanwhile, Leonard is being limited by a back injury aside from being on concussion protocol.
He had one tackle and an assist in their game against Tennessee.
Other Injured Players For Colts
Safety Julian Blackmon did not play in Week 4 due to an ankle injury.
Center Ryan Kelly and tackle Bernhard Raimann are dealing with knee and ankle injuries.
On defense, defensive tackle DeForest Buckner has an elbow injury, while Yannick Ngakoue has a back injury.
Defensive lineman Ifeadi Odenigbo is dealing with a neck injury, while Stephon Gilmore is having hamstring issues.
There is no word yet if any of these players will miss their game against the Broncos.
