New York Giants wide receiver Kenny Golladay continues to disappoint.
He has two receptions for 22 yards and zero touchdowns three weeks into the 2022 season.
Worst yet, he hasn’t scored a touchdown for the Giants after signing a four-year, $72 million contract during the 2021 offseason.
Golladay had zero catches in three targets during their Monday Night Football game versus the Dallas Cowboys.
The team’s willingness to trade him grows with each passing week.
However, as MMQB Lead Content Strategist Albert Breer shared, Golladay has no takers.
The Giants were more than willing to take on a significant chunk of his salary to move Kenny Golladay before the roster cutdown, to no avail. He’s been available for a while—with the contract making it difficult to trade him.
Might take an injury somewhere to make it happen. https://t.co/JuSDcUxQvA

Breer tweeted, “The Giants were more than willing to take on a significant chunk of his salary to move Kenny Golladay before the roster cutdown, to no avail. He’s been available for a while—with the contract making it difficult to trade him. Might take an injury somewhere to make it happen.”
Even an injury to a wide receiver elsewhere might not be a clear path for Golladay because they might elevate someone from their practice squad first.
Likewise, there are more wideouts to consider, like Will Fuller, T.Y. Hilton, and Emmanuel Sanders.
That the Giants are willing to absorb a huge part of his salary is an act of desperation because they have no leverage in any trade negotiations for Golladay.
It’s like they are begging for any team to take him away.
Other Options For Golladay
It’s highly unlikely, but Golladay can turn things around to make him worth his contract.
However, it’s difficult to see it happening, given that Richie James and David Sills might have overtaken him on the depth chart.
The Giants can wait for his contract to expire, but he still has two years left.
If no team takes him, the Giants will likely release him and absorb the dead cap.
