The Pittsburgh Steelers have lost three straight games after their season-opening victory against the division rival Cincinnati Bengals.
They have reached the 20-point mark once in those defeats and lost by an average of 6.3 points per game.
In that case, it’s like the Steelers are already down by a touchdown even before the game has started.
Several factors have contributed to their downfall, from Mitchell Trubisky‘s struggles to offensive coordinator Matt Canada’s predictable play-calling.
But none of those setbacks can compare to the prediction for the Week 5 game against the Buffalo Bills.
Pittsburgh is a 14-point underdog in Buffalo. Pittsburgh is the only team since the 1970 AFL/NFL merger to never be at least a 14-point underdog, via @MackNova. Pittsburgh’s largest underdog role since the merger is +13.5 against Dallas in Super Bowl XXX, when it lost by 10.

Steelers Looking For A Monumental Upset
Those odds are enticing for bettors who are looking for a huge payday off a Steelers victory.
However, a point spread that wide tells that Pittsburgh has little to no chance of defeating the Bills.
It’s easy to see why because the Bills are three points away from an undefeated record.
Aside from their 21-19 setback in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins, the Bills have been impressive in their victories.
After dominating the Los Angeles Rams and the Tennessee Titans in the first two weeks, they also came from behind in Week 4 to defeat the Baltimore Ravens.
Worst yet, the Bills have surrendered only seven fourth-quarter points.
Therefore, the Steelers are doomed if they are lagging in points entering the final chapter.
Buffalo will shut them down to claim their fourth victory in five games, and having Kenny Pickett at quarterback will not help.
