King predicts that the Saints will finish the regular season with a 12-5 record to go number one.
Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers will have an identical record but finish at number two.
He also foresees the Minnesota Vikings and the Philadelphia Eagles finishing with the same 11-6 record.
Completing his prediction for the NFC playoffs are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers, and Los Angeles Rams at identical 10-7 records.
If King’s predictions come true, the Saints will enjoy a bye in the Wild Card Round and home-field advantage throughout the NFC postseason.
Their playoff run will start at home in the Divisional Round against the lowest-seed team that made it through.
If all goes well for the Saints, they might represent the conference in Super Bowl LVII.
A Stacked Saints Roster
Getting quarterback Jameis Winston back is crucial because he enjoyed success with the squad before his injury.
Now that he is back, the team hopes he will pick up where he left off.
He will navigate a talented offense that has versatile running back Alvin Kamara.
They also have a solid receiving corps with Michael Thomas, Chris Olave, and Jarvis Landry.
On defense, they added All-Pro safety Tyrann Mathieu and Marcus Maye on the secondary.
They will line up with cornerbacks Paulson Adebo and Marshon Lattimore.
Cameron Jordan and Demario Davis will lead their push up front.
Barring any injury, this roster can dominate any opposition.
The Saints will open their 2022 season against the Atlanta Falcons on September 11.
