A year after making a splash in free agency, the New England Patriots have lost more than they’ve gained.
J.C. Jackson is now with the Los Angeles Chargers, while Ted Karras joined the Cincinnati Bengals.
Running back Brandon Bolden is also with the Las Vegas Raiders, joining former Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.
The Patriots did sign Ty Montgomery, Jabrill Peppers, and Terrance Mitchell.
But those additions are nothing compared to their 2021 hirings which included Hunter Henry, Jonnu Smith, Matthew Judon, Jalen Mills, and Nelson Agholor, to name a few.
Yet aside from the troubling developments during the 2022 offseason, NBC Sports’ Warren Sharp reminded everyone regarding their atrocious draft history regarding wide receivers.

Sharp named all the wide receivers New England drafted in the first four rounds since becoming the NFL’s foremost dynasty.
Of the seven names he mentioned, N’Keal Harry has the most recall because he had a decent 2020 season when Cam Newton was their quarterback.
Yet he was more of a one-season wonder because he was primarily a non-factor last year.
Meanwhile, only die-hard Patriots fans might recall the other names on Sharp’s list.
Tom Brady Masked Their Deficiencies At Wide Receiver
The Patriots did have talented wide receivers like Julian Edelman and Randy Moss.
But for the most part, quarterback Tom Brady was able to lead the team to Super Bowl championships with a pedestrian receiving corps.
In the 2001 season, Brady led New England to a world championship with wide receivers Bert Emanuel, Terry Glenn, David Patten, and Curtis Jackson, to name a few.
Troy Brown was their only Pro Bowler that year with 1,199 yards and five touchdowns.
The jury is still out if Mac Jones can help elevate the performances of Agholor, Montgomery, Kendrick Bourne, Jakobi Meyers, and newly-acquired DeVante Parker.
