It looks like the Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson will be getting a deal done soon.
The 2019 league MVP missed voluntary OTAs in what was seen as a move to pressure the team to structure his mega-extension.
However, it’s a lame excuse because Jackson isn’t required to be there.
Likewise, both parties are in no hurry to sit at the negotiation table because Jackson has no agent.
He will be directly negotiating with general manager Eric De Costa regarding his next contract which hopefully makes the process easier.
The Ravens hope that they can get a discount given that Jackson need not give a percentage of his earnings to an agent.
But before he signs on the dotted line again, Jackson is already making his commitment to the team that drafted him in 2018.

NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport shared Marlon Humphrey‘s Instagram video announcing Jackson’s arrival in the Ravens’ facility.
The All-Pro cornerback said, “Y’all won’t believe who I’m with.”
Then, he panned the camera to reveal that it was Jackson before shouting in excitement.
With their versatile quarterback in tow, the Ravens can start preparing in hopes of returning to the playoffs.
Are Jackson’s Ankles Healed?
The former Louisville standout had an abrupt ending to his 2021 season due to an ankle injury he suffered in Week 14 against the Cleveland Browns.
His absence continued Baltimore’s six-game losing streak that ultimately pushed them out of postseason contention.
Jackson also lost the opportunity of having three-straight 1,000-rushing-yard seasons.
The Ravens hope that his injury is a thing of the past and he is once again in peak form.
Since he is the focal point of their offense, it’s hard to see them become successful without him.
