Quarterback Drew Brees didn’t rule out the possibility of playing in the NFL again.
He floated that thought after leaving NBC Sports a year after joining the network as their analyst.
However, he didn’t limit his options to donning pads and a helmet again.
He also explored the possibility of returning to the broadcast booth, training for pickleball, and coaching his kids.
Regardless of his next move, he must take his time to decide because he hasn’t had a break in a while.
After playing in the NFL for two decades, he jumped into sports broadcasting immediately after retiring.
He deserves a lengthy pause to ponder his next move, especially because he has nothing to prove.
But NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport has a take on Brees opening the door for a potential return.

Rapoport agreed with New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen that Brees’ statement was done in jest.
Besides, the team is ready to move forward with Jameis Winston as their starting quarterback.
He also mentioned that Brees’ struggles in running the Saints’ dynamic offense towards the end of his career made him decide to retire.
From that decision, it’s impossible to see him turn back the hands of time and perform as if he didn’t have nagging injuries.
Likewise, he struggled to place the ball where it was needed, as signified by his air yards per attempt.
Brees Will Part Ways With NBC
Rapoport also confirmed that the one-time Super Bowl champion will leave the said television network.
However, it’s not the end of Brees’ broadcasting career because he might have opportunities elsewhere.
For now, there’s no certainty regarding his future, meaning that he will have more time with his family.
