The Las Vegas Raiders decided to part ways with Derek Carr after a disappointing season.
Carr was the scapegoat for a team that was poorly coached by Josh McDaniels and whose personnel wasn’t as good as the rest in his division.
And even though he’s had his shortcomings throughout his career, he’s far from the main issue in Sin City right now.
That’s why it’s not a surprise to see that there’s a team already knocking on their door and asking for his services.
According to NFL insider Field Yates, the New Orleans Saints have expressed an interest in trading for Carr, and both parties will meet.

Per Yates, Carr would willingly waive his no-trade clause and take his talents to the Big Easy if he likes what he sees, and it’s not like he’ll have a lot of competition for the starting QB job.
The Saints started Andy Dalton this season, with the injured Jameis Winston serving as his backup.
The fact that Wilson couldn’t outplay an aging Dalton for the starting job speaks volumes of how little confidence Dennis Allen has in him, so there’s no wonder why he’s looking to bring Carr in.
Also, with Taysom Hill likely joining Sean Payton in Denver, there’s a glaring need at QB for a team that wouldn’t need all that much to rule the lesser NFC South for years to come.
Carr will have a final chance to prove his worth and silence his doubters, and it may come as Drew Brees’ successor.
