With the Las Vegas Raiders set to release Derek Carr, there will be no shortage of teams interested in bringing him in.
Carr spent his entire career with the Raiders organization, leading them through some dark years but eventually falling short of the ultimate goal.
Still, one could make a case that he’s been scapegoated by the team, as he was nowhere near the main responsible for their never-ending shortcomings.
Considering that, multiple teams still believe that Carr can be a winning quarterback, and he’d be a major upgrade over their current options.
So, it’s unsurprising to see that NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports that the New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, New York Jets, and Tennessee Titans will all look to get ahead in the Derek Carr sweepstakes.

Carr already visited the Saints and sat down with HC Dennis Allen, so there’s no surprise in that interest.
The Panthers’ QB situation is bad at best, with PJ Walker, Sam Darnold, and Baker Mayfield all getting starts last season.
As for the Jets, the fans literally booed Zach Wilson out of the field, with Mike White looking like a much better option.
Last but not least, Ryan Tannehill’s future in Tennesse seams bleak, and rookie Malik Willis is still a ways away from being ready.
Carr informed the Raiders that he would not waive his no-trade clause for any team, so the team was pretty much forced to release him before his $40.4 million became guaranteed.
Now, we’ll see whether he can be as good as some expected him to be, or if the Raiders were right about him all along.
