The long-awaited regular-season clash between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals will go down in infamy in NFL history books.
Instead of the high-flying matchup between Joe Burrow and Josh Allen, we witnessed one of the scariest scenes in football and professional sports history.
Bills’ S Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field after a collision with Bengals’ Tee Higgins, and he was shortly rushed to the hospital after being performed CPR right there on the field.
Obviously, football was the last thing on everybody’s minds — except for Skip Bayless — and the NFL didn’t hesitate to just cancel the game and call it a day.
Hamlin was eventually released from the hospital and in very good spirits, all things considered, but he did fight for his life for days before making all that progress.
Now, there have been plenty of rumors about Hamlin’s potential future in the league, which is why NFL insider Ian Rapoport cleared the air and stated that he hasn’t even been cleared by his team yet:
“Is on the radar, but it has not happened yet, and a decision has certainly not been made,” Rapoport said. “My understanding of the situation is that Hamlin has still not yet been cleared by the Bills. The most important thing for him is his health and making it all back.”
In the wake of last night's heartwarming scene featuring Damar Hamlin, will he play football again? It's worth noting he has still not yet been fully cleared and is only focusing on his health right now. pic.twitter.com/oaH6riSbsE

Damar Hamlin is young and one of the budding stars in the league, so there’s a big chance we’ll see him back in the gridiron at some point.
Nonetheless, football might as well be the last thing he’s worried about right now after barely making it out of the hospital.
Hamlin will most definitely want to continue his playing days, but there are still multiple hurdles to get past, so he’ll make and announce his decision when the time is right.
