This will be a key offseason for the Arizona Cardinals.
They’ll have to try and convince DeAndre Hopkins to stay amid the rumors, revamp their running game, add some key pieces to their defense, and find someone who can coach Kyler Murray.
Needless to say, the last item on that list is actually the most important one, which is one of the reasons why it’s taken them so long to find a new Head Coach.
There were reports about Sean Payton not wanting anything to do with Murray, and the rumors about Mike Kafka joining the team have dissipated over the days.
Now, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports that Cincinnati Bengals’ Defensive Coordinator, Lou Anarumo, is the leading candidate to land the job, and he’ll undergo a second interview with the team owner at some point this week.

Nonetheless, Rapoport also warned us not to expect an announcement any time soon, as Arizona Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill has been extremely busy as of late, considering Super Bowl LVII will take place at State Farm Stadium, so he’s been meeting with a lot of people as the de facto host of the biggest event in the league.
With that in mind, Rapoport adds that the Cardinals might make a decision and an announcement shortly after the Super Bowl.
Hopefully, the team will find the right guy sooner rather than later, as most of the highly-coveted assistants have also landed some new jobs in different organizations, so they better don’t sleep on their laurels anymore.
