Aaron Rodgers has been one of the most talked-about players during the 2023 offseason.
While he had been initially rumored to be moving on to the New York Jets, nothing concrete had happened.
Then, things began to ramp up.
Members from the Jets’ front office and coaching staff flew to California to meet with him, discussing the possibility of him joining their roster.
Rodgers hadn’t made any public comments until very recently when he appeared on the Pat McAfee Show.
On this show, Rodgers announced that he intended to join the Jets if the Green Bay Packers were able to figure out the contractual side of it.
After these comments, many around the NFL believed that the Packers would quickly get a deal done, officially making Rodgers a Jet.
However, recent reporting from Adam Schefter has indicated otherwise.
“The Green Bay Packers aren’t going to be in a rush to get something done,” said Schefter.
.@AdamSchefter on what's holding up Rodgers becoming a Jet:
"The Green Bay Packers aren't going to be in a rush to get something done until they feel like they get sufficient compensation for the player that believes he is the greatest player in Packers' franchise history." pic.twitter.com/u9zv2VrsHI

Many Packers fans have expressed their frustration with the organization, given their lack of urgency to get a deal done.
While Rodgers may intend to play for the Jets, he is still contractually obligated to the Packers.
For him to play for the Jets, a deal will need to be agreed upon, and actually, be carried out.
This is easier said than done, of course.
There is plenty of nuance to this situation, as there are a few moving pieces still in play.
As Schefter indicates, the Packers are not in a rush to close this deal.
