The Cincinnati Bengals are at that point where many teams with great quarterbacks have been.
It is extension time for Joe Burrow, and he should want to be the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL.
We have seen two quarterbacks get massive extensions this offseason, Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson.
You can make a strong case that Burrow deserves to be paid more than both of them.
According to Ian Rapoport, talks are underway between Burrow and the Bengals.

Rapoport mentioned that Burrow knows exactly what he wants in a deal.
Both sides should be eager to get something done, as the longer this drags on the harder it will become.
No one wants to see the contract negotiations with Burrow turn into what happened with Jackson.
Also, Rapoport mentioned how the Los Angeles Chargers will most likely get a deal done with Justin Herbert before Burrow gets his.
That will just be another player Burrow will be able to surpass in contract value.
So far in his career, Burrow has led the Bengals to the AFC Championship Game twice and Super Bowl once.
Also, last season he finished fourth in MVP voting.
Burrow is the type of player that should have the Bengals in contention every year.
If he is healthy there is no reason they should ever miss the playoffs.
The Bengals went many years without a franchise quarterback.
Now that they have one they must do whatever is necessary to make sure he does not play anywhere else.
