The Las Vegas Raiders have officially entered the market for a new quarterback, as they released Derek Carr after failing to find a trade partner.
But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t any teams interested in Carr’s skills; it’s just that he didn’t want to do them any favors by waiving his no-trade clause.
The New Orleans Saints had already reached out to Carr to try and work something out, but he decided he’s going to take his time and listen to every single one of his suitors.
Notably, he recently visited the New York Jets, and NFL insider Mike Garafolo reported that both ends were quite satisfied with what they saw from each other.
As @DCarr8 notes here, Derek Carr’s visit with the #Jets resulted in rave reviews on both ends. Was very productive for Carr and the team. Both sides have multiple irons in the fire, so we wait and see how it plays out. But all parties came away feeling good about a possible fit. https://t.co/ZDQ6daTbQW

While no signing is imminent, the Jets have now officially become a strong suitor to go all-in on Carr.
They’ve also been tied to a potential blockbuster trade with Aaron Rodgers, but the Green Bay Packers star hasn’t confirmed he wants to be traded, not to mention any potential compensation would be quite steep.
Carr obviously doesn’t offer Rodgers’ MVP-caliber upside, but he could be a cheaper and safer bet, all while also being younger.
The Jets knocked on the playoffs’ door last season and have one of the most promising young cores in the league right now, with QB play being the only thing holding them back.
With that in mind, don’t be shocked if Carr winds up in green and white and takes both his career and the franchise back up from the ground.NEXT: Former NFL Coach Comments If Derek Carr Can Make Jets A Playoff Team
