NFL Insider Gives Injury Timeline Update On Lane Johnson

Following the heartbreaking loss in Super Bowl LVII, Eagles star RT Lane Johnson underwent surgery on Thursday to repair a groin injury.

The 32-year-old played through a torn adductor throughout the playoffs, and he’s expected to be fully recovered by training camp.

Johnson played a significant role in the Eagles’ success throughout the whole season, even after suffering this soft-tissue injury on Christmas Eve during their divisional clash with the Dallas Cowboys.

He played through the pain and elected to undergo surgery after the season, reaffirming his commitment to the organization and his status as one of the most respected guys in the locker room.

Lane played north of 200 offensive snaps across the Eagles’ three playoff games, including every single snap in the biggest game of the season.

The Eagles boasted one of the most proficient offensive lines in recent NFL history, allowing a grand total of 11 sacks.

Notably, plenty of that had to do with Lane Johnson’s relentless work, even after suffering such a nagging injury.

He was nearly perfect in the Super Bowl and gave Jalen Hurts plenty of room and time to operate en route to his four touchdowns and 35 total points, while most players would’ve just opted to protect their bodies, sit out, and miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery.

Johnson’s efforts were recognized with both Pro Bowl and All-Pro selections, cementing himself as one of the best right tackles in the game.
