Having consistent success in the NFL is hard.
That is why we have rarely ever seen one team win back-to-back Super Bowls.
So, it is safe to assume that one of the Philadelphia Eagles or Kansas City Chiefs will not be in the big game.
The team that will have the most difficult time getting back is the Eagles.
According to James Palmer, the Eagles have the toughest strength of schedule for the 2023 season.
Looking at the two Super Bowl teams from last season moving forward in 2023:
– Based on 2022 win %, the #Eagles have the toughest strength of schedule in the NFL in 2023 (2023 opponents had combined 2022 win pct of .566)
– #Chiefs have the 16th-toughest SOS (.512)

Since they finished first in the NFC East, they will have to face a first-place schedule.
Also, the NFC East is set to face the AFC East this year, one of the league’s tougher divisions.
It will be interesting to see how the Eagles respond after a devastating loss in the Super Bowl.
We have seen many teams in the past struggle with Super Bowl hangovers.
Also, the Eagles lost a lot of impact players from their team.
On the defensive side, at least four starters have found new homes.
The most notable are Javon Hargrave and C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
Also, every defense around the league will key in on Jalen Hurts.
He will not sneak up on anyone this year, and more defenses will be prepared for dual-threat quarterbacks.
The Eagles still have a good roster despite their losses.
But, to think they will have another 14-win regular season seems like a stretch.
