Defensive end Melvin Ingram played for two teams last NFL season.
After six games with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs for a sixth-round selection in the 2022 draft.
He played nine games for the Chiefs, tallying 15 total tackles, one sack, and a forced fumble.
But after some uncertainty regarding his NFL journey, the three-time Pro Bowler will be staying in the AFC.

The NFL on CBS reported that Ingram will be signing with the Miami Dolphins.
To which, league insider Jordan Schultz commented, “#Dolphins are a very blitz-heavy defense and Melvin Ingram will fit in very nicely as a result. Played well for the #Chiefs, while also starting all three playoff games last season.”
Ingram did help stabilize the Chiefs’ defense, especially in stopping the run.
The former South Carolina standout was also adept in applying pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
Therefore, he will feel more at home with Miami’s defense.
Together with Emmanuel Ogbah and Jaelan Phillips, Ingram could also get to the quarterback if his teammates get double-teamed.
If he was a bit contained by Kansas City’s defense, he will have more opportunities to try for sacks with the Dolphins.
Miami Is Stacking Up Talent
Ingram’s addition bolsters the Dolphins’ defense that could be one of the NFL’s best.
Ogbah and Phillips combined for 17.5 sacks last season to lead the charge up front.
They are supported by Jerome Baker, Christian Wilkins, and Brandon Jones who had 15 sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Xavien Howard will be the anchor of their secondary.
Adding Ingram to a loaded defense is an insurance that they have all levels covered.
Combine this unit with their explosive offense and the Dolphins could finally make the playoffs after falling short the past two seasons.
