In last night’s Monday Night Football matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills, Bills cornerback Damar Hamlin suffered an injury and is now in a local Cincinnati hospital.
Known for his charitable works on and off the NFL‘s biggest stage, Hamlin had set up a GoFundMe account to assist children in need around his hometown.
In 2020, Damar Hamlin started a GoFundMe to purchase toys for children in his community. The initial goal was $2,500.

After Hamlin’s injury, many NFL fans wondered what they could do to help, and if there was a way to give back in such a grief-stricken time.
Currently, Hamlin’s status is largely unknown.
In the meantime, the NFL community has rallied together in Hamlin’s honor, donating thousands and thousands to his charitable foundation.
Here is a link if you would like to donate as well.
In the last 12 or so hours, this fund has increased to over three million dollars in Hamlin’s honor.
Hamlin’s original goal was just $2,500, so this large amount that has been donated will go a long way in helping the cause that Hamlin has been so passionate about.
All of these funds will go to children in need around the Pittsburgh-area community.
Although the NFL has its known heated rivalries, the community has rallied around Hamlin in a big way.
While Hamlin’s status is currently unknown, this collective act of giving and kindness will go far, and can not be understated.
We’re all pulling for Hamlin and his family during this difficult time, and wish nothing but the best for them.
He is in great hands at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
