Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers had a lot of catching up after playing just one regular season game last year.
He came back in time for the playoffs but was relatively a non-factor for the Rams during Super Bowl LVI.
He had 13 carries, three receptions, and 35 total yards in that game.
Now that he is back to full strength after tearing his Achilles tendon, the Rams expect great things from the third-year player out of Florida State.
Unfortunately, as fantasy football analyst Luke Sawhook pointed out, the defending Super Bowl champions weren’t able to maximize their backfield star.
Final Stat Line for Cam Akers:
3 Rush Attempts for 0 Yards.
Very concerning indication of his usage for the Rams this season.#FantasyFootball #RamsHouse

The Rams might have abandoned the ground game in their 2022 season opener against the Buffalo Bills because they only ran the ball 18 times.
Darrell Henderson Jr. led the squad with 13 carries for 47 yards.
Meanwhile, Akers had 625 yards and two rushing touchdowns during his rookie season.
Games like these could make it difficult for him to match those numbers.
The Bills Had The Rams’ Number
The two teams were in a close contest until the second half happened.
Quarterback Josh Allen found ways to exploit the Rams defense, resulting in three touchdown drives.
Meanwhile, Rams play-caller Matthew Stafford struggled with the Bills defense.
He couldn’t find the mark with his receivers, and the run game became largely non-existent.
In contrast, Buffalo got 56 rushing yards and a touchdown from Allen alone.
Devin Singletary added 48, and Zack Moss had 15.
Akers can erase the memory of this disappointing performance by having a great game against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2.
