The New York Giants were one of the most surprising teams in the league during the first half of the season.
They were almost unbeaten through the first eight weeks of the campaign, fighting their way back into some games they would’ve played almost every other season.
Brian Daboll helped them turn the corner and develop a winning culture in no time, and Daniel Jones sure looked much better than he did in the first years of his career.
Jones took a big step forward, and another year under Daboll could do wonders for his game.
However, it seems like his new deal may have gotten to his head, as he’s reportedly asking for the same kind of money that Patrick Mahomes got.
NFL insider Pat Leonard reports that Jones is seeking a deal worth at least $45 million, and he even changed agents in his attempt to get that done.

Needless to say, NFL fans were shocked and even amused to hear about Jones’ delusional financial pretensions, taking to social media to call him out.

45 pesos 😂. This guy is bugging

If that’s true, they better pack it up. Ain’t no way in hell any team should be giving DJ 45 mil.😂🤣

If DJ secures more than 45 mill a year I’m hiring a first athlete agent to negotiate my pay raise at my 9-5.

Jones’ numbers aren’t impressive by any means.
His physical traits are there, and he’s the best option for the Giants right now.
But he has absolutely no business demanding almost $13 million more than what the Giants could give him under the franchise tag, let alone the same kind of money as Patrick Mahomes.
By no means should the Giants comply with his demands, and he better realize that sooner rather than later, or he’ll just lose plenty of money.NEXT: The Giants Have Reportedly Met With A Top QB Prospect
