It was disappointing for the Indianapolis Colts to not make it to last season’s AFC playoffs.
They had two opportunities to clinch a postseason berth but failed after losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 18.
But despite that bitter ending to their season, Jonathan Taylor did not disappoint.
If reigning Offensive Player of the Year Cooper Kupp won the triple crown for wide receivers, Taylor achieved the same feat for running backs.
The former Wisconsin standout led the league in rushing attempts (332), yards (1,811), and rushing touchdowns (18).
If not for him, the Colts might not have been in playoff contention.
But his performance might be forgotten by NFL fans because the Colts were eliminated early.
That’s why CBS Sports reminded everyone who Taylor is.
Jonathan Taylor really was that dude last season:

They posted that he led the league in total yards from scrimmage (2,171) and total touchdowns (20).
The credit also goes to the Colts’ offensive line for making the gaps that allowed Taylor to dominate.
Indianapolis has one of the best offensive lines in the league with center Ryan Kelly and guard Quenton Nelson.
With their line intact, Taylor is poised for another dominant season.
Taylor And Derrick Henry Will Compete For Most Rushing Yards
It’s unfair to say to Taylor that he won because Derrick Henry got injured.
After all, they have different running styles which work for one another.
Henry barges through tackles while Taylor skirts around them.
Without question, they are the top two running backs in the NFL and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they duel for the running back triple crown.
It should be a friendly competition that helps elevate each other’s game.
But whoever wins, the other player will be quick to congratulate.
Still, never forget what Taylor accomplished for the Colts in 2021 because it was a season for the ages.
