The NFL has already announced that Germany will get to host a regular-season game at Allianz Arena in Munich.
The country’s addition means that the league will now be playing at three locations outside the United States.
In relation to that development, Pro Football Focus writer Ari Meirov shared an update on which teams will be playing abroad in 2022.
Just announced: The #Packers, #Saints and #Jaguars will be going to London next season. The #Bucs are going to Germany. The #Cardinals will be going to Mexico.
All those teams will be the "home" teams.

Meirov said, “Just announced: The #Packers, #Saints and #Jaguars will be going to London next season. The #Bucs are going to Germany. The #Cardinals will be going to Mexico. All those teams will be the ‘home’ teams.”
While football fans in America might struggle to watch those games live due to time zone differences, the NFL is keen on bringing the game closer to their fans outside its home base.
The NFL does have the widest reach among American viewers, as audience numbers for Super Bowl LVI recently revealed.
But they lag behind the NBA and MLB in terms of global popularity.
The league hopes that these games will spark interest among new fanbases which could ultimately lead to the revival of a developmental league like NFL Europe.
NFL International Home Marketing Area
The NFL International Series is also part of the league’s International Home Marketing Area initiative wherein the league grants access to international territories for commercialization, fan engagement, and marketing.
The initiative’s goal is for teams to build their global brand and to generate more fans internationally.
18 of the 32 NFL teams were granted IHMA access that covers eight countries.
Mexico has the most teams with nine while the United Kingdom has six.
Four teams will explore the Germany IHMA while Spain has two.
Australia, Brazil, and China all have one NFL team going for the IHMA each.
