The Jacksonville Jaguars will have the first overall pick for the second consecutive draft.
Last season, they drafted Trevor Lawrence, who has the skillset to lead their offense for a long time.
But while selecting the former Clemson standout was a no-brainer, the Jaguars haven’t decided who to pick in 2022.
Sportsbooks put Georgia’s Travon Walker as the likely number one choice.
There have also been talks of Ikem Ekwonu climbing to the top spot.
However, NFL insider Kyle Brandt argues for the Jaguars to make a solid choice.
For the Jaguars. You need a double, guys. Don’t strike out again trying to hit one 500 feet. https://t.co/SoGxkUFUES

Brandt tweeted, “For the Jaguars. You need a double, guys. Don’t strike out again trying to hit one 500 feet.”
He also pointed out the team’s futility and draft blunders over the past few years.
Aside from having four head coaches in the last seven years, they’ve also averaged 4.2 wins a year over the previous decade.
Of their ten first-round picks before Lawrence, only two of them are still with the team, and many are out of the league.
Brandt Made A Case For Aidan Hutchinson
The upside is the biggest knock against Michigan edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson.
Some football experts claim that Walker has the capability of becoming a better player in the long run.
However, Brandt argued that Hutchinson is a solid option despite the low ceiling.
He added that Hutchinson’s measurables are comparable to Myles Garrett and Khalil Mack.
During his latest appearance on Good Morning Football, Brandt added, “I look at that guy, and there’s no way that he’s going to be a bust. I don’t know if he’s going to be Reggie White, but I know he’s going to be rock solid.”
The Jaguars only have a day to ponder Brandt’s argument.
If they pick Hutchinson over Walker, the NFL insider has rested his case.
