Ever since the last championship reign of the Dallas Cowboys in the 1990s, things have been hard for fans.
They go through heartache and playoff droughts.
While the Cowboys have gotten to the playoffs 12 times since their last Super Bowl appearance, they have only won five playoff games.
With these losses, it’s hard for fans to remember the glory days of Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, and Emmitt Smith.
These three players led the Cowboys to three Super Bowl championships in the 90s.
However, since their glory days, it’s been mostly downhill for the Cowboys.
It’s so bad that one NFL analyst sums it up as “the most brutal thing in sports.”
Life as a Cowboys fan is the most brutal thing in sports.

While going to the playoffs isn’t bad, the brutal part comes from the letdown the team gives fans.
People hype the team as this Super Bowl contender, only for them to fall victim to a loss before the NFC Championship Game.
While they get a playoff win every so often, it’s the Super Bowl hype which makes being a fan brutal.
Fans saw the Cowboys of the 90s and feel their team should continue to be Super Bowl contenders each season.
When NFL fans have seen the New England Patriots go to the big game 10 times since the Cowboys’ last appearance, it puts pressure on the once dominant NFC East franchise.
This pressure is brutal for both fans and the team, as the Cowboys lack the right pieces for a Super Bowl run.
While they have plenty of talent, they lack the right leadership to get them to a Super Bowl.
Until these things change, life as a fan will continue to be brutal.
