One decision could change the Cleveland Browns‘ fortunes this season.
Deshaun Watson, the quarterback they signed to a five-year, $230 million contract, is still waiting for the decision on whether he will sit out the 2022 NFL season or play a few games in it.
His fate rests in former federal judge Sue Robinson who will weigh the cases presented by the NFL and Watson’s camp, courtesy of Jeffrey Kessler.
The league is pushing for an indefinite suspension that could roll over to a few games in 2023.
Meanwhile, Kessler is hoping for a reduced sanction by citing previous decisions made by the league.
While everyone awaits the ruling, rumors can quickly spread regarding Robinson’s judgment.
To which, this Twitter user reminded football fans.
PSA: I would basically guarantee you that Judge Robinson is not sharing her reasoning or ruling before issuing it, so any "rumors" or "feelings" or "things I'm hearing's" are almost certainly founded upon rank speculation and/or the agendas of stakeholders in the process.

Ryan Burns tweeted, “PSA: I would basically guarantee you that Judge Robinson is not sharing her reasoning or ruling before issuing it, so any ‘rumors’ or ‘feelings’ or ‘things I’m hearing’ are almost certainly founded upon rank speculation and/or the agendas of stakeholders in the process.”
Therefore, everyone will get to hear the ruling at the same time, leading to either agony or triumph.
Of course, the decision is open to speculation because Watson will either play or not this season.
Some people could use that to their advantage to gain more online clout.
When Will The Decision Be Handed Down?
CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson shared that the decision won’t come out until a few more weeks.
Given that timeline, the ruling will be revealed either before or during training camp.
It’s a delicate case that will require Robinson extensive time to review.
After all, she is trained to consider all evidence presented as a former federal judge.
That said, her decision won’t please every football fan but it will be based on the rule of law.
