The debate about Brock Purdy‘s future with the San Francisco 49ers is on center stage this season.
When the team got him with the last pick of the NFL Draft, no one could have predicted him being the leader of the 49ers.
However, his leadership on offense has put the 49ers in the NFC Championship game for the second consecutive season.
While he’s doing amazing things this season, the debate comes from the team having Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo.
With Lance being the starting quarterback this season, and a former first-round pick, some feel Purdy won’t be the starter next season.
However, Ryan Clark feels the seventh-round pick from Iowa State has earned the starting job.

While he makes a solid case for Purdy, the 49ers have a tough decision next season with their quarterbacks.
But they can eliminate Garoppolo from the equation if they don’t re-sign him this offseason.
With his contract being a one-year deal, it comes down to Lance and Purdy for the starting job next season.
Clark pointing out how Garoppolo never had a good backup when he was starting quarterback shows how far the 49ers have come with the position.
They can start Purdy and keep Lance as their backup next season if they trust him.
While NFL analysts are split on the fate of Purdy, a Super Bowl ring can strengthen the quarterback’s case.
However, it might not guarantee a starting job for him.
If the 49ers do what the Philadelphia Eagles did with Nick Foles, Lance will keep his starting job.
