A dark cloud will linger above the Denver Broncos if they cannot turn things around.
They are at 2-4 after six weeks, a result that no one expected.
Their loyal fans thought that adding Russell Wilson to a talented roster would help them dominate the opposition.
Instead, they look like a lost cause because they have breached the 20-point mark just once in six games.
Worst yet, the franchise is in for more trouble, as NFL insider Dov Kleiman pointed out.
The #Broncos gave Russell Wilson a $245 million contract to lock him up for 7 years and they're ranked dead last in points per game in the NFL.
They also scarified their future by giving away two 1st round picks, two 2nd round picks and 3 players.
This. Is. Bad.

Kleiman tweeted, “The #Broncos gave Russell Wilson a $245 million contract to lock him up for 7 years, and they’re ranked dead last in points per game in the NFL. They also scarified their future by giving away two 1st round picks, two 2nd round picks, and 3 players. This. Is. Bad.”
The Broncos gave Wilson that hefty extension even if he still had two years left in his previous contract with the Seattle Seahawks.
Unfortunately, he hasn’t lived up to the hype with 1,442 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions.
He is also completing just 58.6 percent of his passes.
Sadly, it will be difficult for the Broncos to get out of that contract without suffering the consequences.
His recent performances also make it tough for the Broncos to find a trade partner that will acquire him.
A buyout is possible, but the dead cap will cripple them for one season, forcing them to lose some of their key players.
No Chance To Build The Team
The Broncos will have to find other ways to build their roster.
Their early picks have been wiped out because of the Wilson trade.
Otherwise, their team will decline if they cannot add more talent in the coming years.
