The NFC is a top-heavy conference with six teams leading the way.
The Los Angeles Rams are arguably the most surprising team doing so well just because of how things turned around so fast with Matthew Stafford in at quarterback over Jared Goff.
But Stafford is not doing it alone.
In fact, he and Cooper Kupp are forming a historical connection in 2021.
Kupp is doing so well he was just named NFC Offensive Player of the Month for the second month in a row.
The receiver is playing out of his mind and has a shot to set records in 2021.
Cooper Kupp is the first player in the Super Bowl era with 900 Rec yards and 10 Rec TDs through the first eight games.

A Dominant October For Kupp
The Rams receiver started to heat up on October 17 against the New York Giants.
Since then, he has had at least 100 yards in all three games and has five combined touchdowns in that span.
He is at 924 yards and 10 touchdowns through eight games, which represents a complete season for many NFL receivers.
The single-season record for receiving yards is 1,964, which was set by Calvin Johnson in 2012.
Something about having Stafford at quarterback is special for certain receivers.

Kupp is right on pace to set a new record given the extra game in place for the 2021 season.
The wild thing is that opposing defenses can’t seem to stop him.
If extra attention is paid toward Kupp, Van Jefferson and Robert Woods are ready to pick up the slack.
Stafford is absolutely slinging the ball and is playing like an MVP.
In a weird twist, Kupp may be his top competition for the award with the way things are playing out through eight games.
Everyone in Los Angeles should be perfectly fine with an MVP race breaking out among the stars on offense.
