The Boston Red Sox offseason had its ups and downs.
Though they lost stars such as Xander Bogaerts and J.D. Martinez, they still managed to add Justin Turner, Masataka Yoshida, Adam Duvall, Kenley Jansen, and Corey Kluber.
And speaking of their additions, Yoshida may be the biggest one of them all.
The new Red Sox slugger is currently competing in the World Baseball Classic with Team Japan and is on quite a roll right now.
In fact, he’s set a record for the most RBI by a Team Japan player in a single World Baseball Classic.
Yoshida has 10 RBI in five games.

This has to be encouraging to see for the Red Sox and their fans.
The team certainly has more than their fair share of question marks entering the 2023 season, especially after the losses of Bogaerts and Martinez.
However, Yoshida could help them put some of their concerns to rest.
If his hot start in the WBC is any indication, then the Red Sox truly have something special in him and could make significant improvements this year if he continues his hot streak.
Along with Shohei Ohtani, Lars Nootbaar, and Yu Darvish, Yoshida has been carrying Team Japan.
At the moment, Team Japan is still undefeated in WBC play and is on their way to the semifinals.
If Yoshida can stay hot, then Japan has a good chance of bringing home the WBC title, and the Red Sox can put their faith in him as they look to improve offensively in 2023.
