After trading superstars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving last season, it seemed as though the Brooklyn Nets were starting from scratch, with the team potentially in the rebuilding process for many years to come.
However, the Nets proved to be a bit better than expected after sending their superstars elsewhere, as the team was pretty successful with Mikal Bridges as the team’s new star player to build around.
Ironically enough, with all that has happened with the Nets over the last couple of years, many have forgotten that Ben Simmons is still on the team and still under contract as the team’s highest-paid player for two more seasons.
Although there’s no telling what Simmons can provide an NBA team from here on out, as it remains to be seen if he can get back to form as an All-Star and an elite defender, he seems to be enjoying himself while looking in shape and working out with the team, via NBACentral.

If Simmons can get back to form as one of the league’s best players on the defensive end of the basketball floor, the Nets might be able to make some noise next season, with Bridges potentially taking the next step and cementing himself as the new face of the franchise in Brooklyn.
Along with Simmons and Bridges, the Nets have some talented players like Cam Johnson, Lonnie Walker IV, and Dorian Finney-Smith.
Although this team likely won’t be a title contender anytime soon, Brooklyn could be a perennial playoff team in the Eastern Conference and potentially one star away from really being a force to be reckoned with in the East.
