The world got to see Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic play together for the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night.
Their match against the Minnesota Timberwolves was their second after Irving’s shocking trade just last week.
Their first game against the Sacramento Kings ended in a loss so fans were hoping the pairing of Irving and Doncic would lead to a win.

It didn’t but the team’s biggest duo did quite well despite that.
Irving scored 36 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists while Donic put up 33 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists.
It’s great to see one player score that much but having two achieve those totals is really impressive and should excite Dallas fans.
It is clear that this pair is going to work well together.
Throughout Monday’s game, Doncic and Irving found each other and were able to move and perform and score in tandem.
This is very promising and those who were afraid Irving and Doncic wouldn’t match well can breathe a sigh of relief.
But why is the team still losing?
To be fair, their 0-2 record comes with tight defats (133-128 and 124-121) but it’s still concerning to see this hotly anticipated pair not achieve success right away.
If the team isn’t able to bounce back and find a lot of wins in the postseason, you can bet the front office will want to do something drastic.
Will they offer Irving a longer deal?
Will they ship away a bunch of role players on the bench to acquire more talent?
If the duo of Irving and Doncic doesn’t result in something major and impressive over the next few months, the Mavericks will have a lot of questions to answer.
