There are multiple players who are making the Kings so royally great, and Malik Monk is one of them.
Monk joined the team in the summer and has been showing his abilities every single night.
NBA University has highlighted a wonderful and important statistic about Monk: he makes an assist on 18.5% of his drives, which is the highest in the entire NBA for players who make more than 65 drives.
He is averaging 4 assists per game in only 22 minutes, which is higher than anyone else in the league.
Many people thought Monk was going to do great things when he moved north to the Kings – and so far he has.
Monk’s Big Move
Last season, Monk was scoring 13.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists a game when playing for the Los Angeles Lakers.
He has stepped that up since being moved to the Kings.
Once again, the Lakers have given up a huge star-in-the-making but their loss is Sacramento’s gain.
Monk, under the leadership of head coach Mike Brown, has really felt comfortable with this team and has leaned into both his shooting skills as well as his ability to assist.
The good news for Monk is that he has so many great teammates to pass to.
