Boston Celtics interim head coach Joe Mazzulla has been granted the biggest opportunity of his career but due to the worst circumstances imaginable.
When it was announced that Ime Udoka would be suspended for all of 2022-23 due to an intimate relationship he had with a female staff member, Mazzulla was granted the honor of leading the team.
The entire Udoka episode was shocking and sudden and rocked the entire NBA world.
The players on the roster were not exempt from feeling blindsided by the news.

Speaking to the press, Mazzulla opened up about the process of moving forward without Udoka.
He said that he wants to give everyone time to heal and work through their emotions and recollect themselves.
However, he has a lot of faith in the team and mentions that they have a formula for success and getting better.
The team is one of the most powerful in the league and had major plans for the 2022-23 season before Udoka’s scandal broke.
They are going to work hard to stick to those plans and achieve greatness again.
A Season Without Udoka
They will need to get together, shake all that off, and again focus on building upon the success of last year.
Mazzulla knows that he has a tough task ahead and he is becoming a coach under circumstances that no one else has experienced.
On one hand, he has one of the best teams in the league.
On other hand, that team is at the center of scandal and exceedingly high expectations.
The upcoming season is going to be a tricky one for the Celtics, for multiple reasons.NEXT: Jayson Tatum Is Treating His Body Right
