On Thursday, the defending World Series champion Houston Astros completed their search for a new general manager, hiring Atlanta Braves Vice President of Scouting Dana Brown to fill the hole left by the departure of James Click.
Click had been let go after the World Series, prompting the Astros search for a new face to fill the GM role.
But yesterday, they got their man.
And so, Brown wasted no time outlining what his goals were for the 2023 season and beyond as he inherits a stacked Astros ballclub.
Brown stated that he and the entire Astros organization want to “get greedy about winning.”

This is something that should generate a ton of excitement within the fanbase of the Astros.
Obviously, the Astros are no strangers to winning.
Since 2015, fans have been treated to some very good teams and some exciting postseason runs.
The team has won two World Series titles and four American League pennants in a span of just six years.
So for fans to hear that the team wants to get greedy about winning should be exciting.
The Astros certainly aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, and with Brown at the helm, the team should continue to draft and develop talent quite well.
Brown was on hand when the Braves selected Vaughn Grissom, Spencer Strider, and NL Rookie of the Year Michael Harris II.
Surely, more talented players are on their way for the Astros.
They already have built a solid foundation from within.
But Brown wants more and will give Astros fans more of what they have already experienced.
