The NBA Slam Dunk Contest has been an event where many players make a name for themselves.
We have seen some of the greatest NBA players of all time win that contest.
From Michael Jordan to Dominique Wilkins to Kobe Bryant and then Vince Carter.
So many legendary players have “Slam Dunk Contest Champion” on their resume.
But, over the past few years, the contest has introduced us to some new names.
This past dunk contest gave us a test of one of the elite dunkers that no one knew about.
Philadelphia 76ers guard Mac McClung was able to participate despite being in the G League.
He put on a show in the contest that was as good as any in the past decade.
McClung showed off his elite jumping ability and had everyone watching on the edge of their seat.
After that incredible showing that won McClung the contest, he became a celebrity.
His dunks were all over social media, and he made a name for himself.
Now, McClung is starring in TV ads.
NBA legend Vince Carter and McClung starred in a commercial for the upcoming Dungeons and Dragons movie.

McClung would not have this platform were it not for his incredible dunk contest showing.
Even though many fans do not get to see him on a nightly basis in the NBA, his dunks are still talked about and hopefully, we can see him in the contest again next year.
