The Brooklyn Nets just completed a monster trade that landed them Ben Simmons, formerly of the Philadelphia 76ers.
By doing so, the Nets now hold the distinct privilege of potentially having the highest-drafted starting five in the history of the NBA.

As pointed out by ESPN, Kyrie Irving and Blake Griffin were the number one picks in the draft, while Kevin Durant and LaMarcus Aldridge were drafted number two.
Meanwhile, Simmons was also a number one pick, meaning that the new possible starting lineup for the Nets are all number one or two picks from former NBA Drafts.
That’s a very special fact but is it enough to get the team back on track?
Nets Rebounding?
The Nets were supposed to be one of the most unbeatable, frightening teams in the NBA but this season has seen a whole slew of troubles.
It all started with Irving being forced to sit out because of his COVID-19 vaccination status but was only made worse by multiple injuries, including a recent one to Durant which has proven to be downright devastating to the team.
Currently, the team sits in the eighth spot in the East with a record of 30-27 and has suffered a slew of embarrassing and troubling losses.
The Simmons trade couldn’t have come at a better time and people are hoping his entry into the squad will help the team turn it all around right after the All-Star break.
Simmons, along with Durant’s upcoming return, will not only give the Nets a unique lineup that goes down in the history books – but it’ll also give the team a chance to make an impact in the postseason.
